Funeral Services for Jean Shavor, 79, of Brownsboro are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the Leagueville Baptist Church in Leagueville with Rev. James Craver officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m., in Longview at Grace Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Shavor went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 12, 2013 in Tyler.
Jean Shavor was born June 7, 1933 in Greggton, Texas the daughter of Rufus Leonard Craver and Birdie Spence Craver. She was a member of the Leagueville Baptist Church and devoted much of her time serving as a member of the prayer team, singing in the choir and cooking for grieving families. She took pride in her ability to minister to those in need and enjoyed making others feel important. She loved making quilts for the sick and for special families who had lost loved ones. Na Na was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister and will be greatly missed by all those she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Lewis Leonard Sr.; one son, David Leonard; one daughter, Sherry Leonard; three sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jearl Shavor; son and daughter-in-law Lewis and Theresa Leonard of Salem, Missouri; daughter and son-in-law LeaAnn and George Pitones of Arlington; son and daughter-in-law Dennis and DeDe Shavor of North Las Vegas, Nevada; sister, Barbara Garcia of Rowlett; brother and sister-in-law, James and Rhonda Craver of Allen; 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens.
