On the evening of Dec. 2, 2015, Jean Massingill better known to all that loved her as Granny Jean, passed away after a long illness with Alzheimer’s. Jean was born Jan. 11, 1931. She passed away at the age of 84 years old. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church of Tool, Texas.
Jean was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed by all of us.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Willard Clayton Wood Sr. and Bernice Snowden Wood, sister, Sue Yakesch, brother, James Nelson Wood and Willard Clayton Wood Jr., brother in law, Freddy Yakesch, Billy Spivey and Billy Massingill.
Jean is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Royce Fawn Massingill, better known as Pop, of Brackettville, Texas, sister, Pat Spivey of Tool, Texas, sister in laws, Juathenia Wood and Elwanda Massingill, son, Royce Lonell Massingill and wife Elizabeth of South Dakota, Woody Massingill and wife Debra of Brackettville, Texas and Larry Massingill and wife Beverly of Malakoff, Texas.
Grandchildren, Paul and Amber Massingill of Fort Worth Texas, Keith and Jennifer Massingill of Malakoff, Texas, Summer Massingill of Wylie Texas, John and Ashley Broom of Forney, Texas, Tony and Savannah Molinar of Brackettville, Texas, Whitney and Tara Massingill of Brackettville, Texas, Joshua Massingill of Minot, N.D., Jasmine Massingill of Minot, N.D., and Emily Massingill of Bismark, N.D.
Great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Michael, P.J., Austin, Kaitlyn, Chase, Luke, Blakely Jean, Baylee, Braydee, Blayne, Solana, Kalisa, Mason, Gentry, Weston, and Henley.
