Funeral services for James Eugene Wilson, 83, of Larue are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Carl Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Cobb Cemetery near Thornton, Texas at 3 p.m.
Mr. Wilson went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Aug. 23, 2013 in Larue, Texas.
James Eugene Wilson was born Jan. 6, 1930 in Thornton, Texas the son of Frank Wilson and Minoela Ferrel Wilson. He was a member of the Northeast Church of Christ in Athens and spent his life serving the church. He was a minister and a carpenter who loved the outdoors. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family and will be missed by all he knew and loved.
James was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and four brothers.
He is survived by his loving wife Cleo Wilson of the home; two daughters, Rebecca Ann Jackson and husband Harold Ray of Larue, Texas, Shirley Jean Cade and husband David L. of Huntsville, Texas; two sons, James Dan Wilson of Larue, Texas, Verlan Robert Wilson and wife Glenda Darlene Wilson of Cleveland, Texas; six grandchildren, Chandra Starr Jackson, Sarah Rena Jameson and husband Justin, Robert Glenn Cade and fiance Kim Belanger, Pamela Lynn Miller, Kimberly Michele O’Pry and husband Allen, Timothy Michael Cade and wife Katherine; great grandchildren, Ethan Christopher Banuelos, Alex James and Rebecca Marie Cade, Liana Huff, Nicole Miller, Christa McMillan, Austin Michael and Hannah Jean O’Pry, McKinley Ann, Jackson Roy Cade; future great-great grandchildren, Daphne Claire Jameson, Cade Ryan Burleson, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 26, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens.
Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Cade, Tim Cade, Alex Cade, Allen O’Pry, Walter Lee Wilson and Justin Jameson. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Lee Wilson and George Wilson.
