Jack Alan Richie was born September 19, 1929 in Kaufman County, Texas the son of Rufus Richie and Georgia J. Johnston Richie. Jack was a great athlete and enjoyed life to the fullest. He was quarterback of the Terrell Tigers and led the team to a district championship. He married his high school sweetheart, Tina Carothers and later served in the US Navy during the Korean War.

He was a member of the Rolling Hills Country Club in Arlington. An avid golfer, he also enjoyed bowling and camping with his family. Granddaddy was also an ever-attentive, patient and devoted father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all that knew him. In better times, Jack and Tina loved to dance and always cleared the floor with their jitterbug.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
