Services for Donald “Doc” Clark, 81 of Athens are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Landmark Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Fondren officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. in New Prospect Cemetery in Timpson.
“Doc” passed away August 5, 2014 in Athens.
He was born August 21, 1932 in Nacogdoches to the late Dewey Wesley and Vesta Mae Bagley Clark. Doc started college at age 15. He attended Stephen F. Austin for Premed and graduated UT Southwestern Medical School, Dallas and served his internship at Beaumont City Hospital. Doc practiced medicine 50 years doing family practice, obstetrics and radiology. He was a Korean War Veteran of the United States Navy serving three years as a medic. He was a 32nd Degree Master Mason.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years Janie Clark of Athens; sons Alan Clark and wife Patsy of Rockwall, Danny Clark and wife Robin and David Clark and wife Kim, all of Amarillo; five grandsons, one granddaughter, one stepson, one stepdaughter, two step granddaughters and one step grandson.
Sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation for family and friends will be 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
