A memorial service for Corinne Madeline Moyer, 93, Athens is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013 at First Christian Church with Rev. Bill Hauck officiating.
Corinne died peacefully Aug. 13, 2013 in Athens.
She was born Nov. 5, 1919 in Fairbury, Nebraska to Samuel Emory and Bessie Hannah Erisman Headlee. Corinne moved to Joplin, Missouri when she was young where she married and had three children. She traveled many years before settling in Irving, then later Athens and Abilene. She returned to Athens in 1998 to be closer to her children. Corinne was a member of First Christian Church. She will be remembered and missed by all who knew her for her devotion to family and friends as well as her great generosity, good humor and infectious laughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gene Moyer in 2008 and grandchild Rebecca Carson.
Survivors include children Janice Carson, Tool, David Moyer, San Angelo and Larry Moyer, Plano; grandchildren Michael Moyer, David A. Moyer, both of Austin, Jeannie McKinley, Claremore, Okla., Jennifer Carson, Arlington, T. J. Moyer and Shana Whitaker, both from Louisville, Kentucky. Corinne had nine great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews who considered her their second mother.
