Funeral services for Castione “Kit” Boyd of Athens are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Rome Cemetery in Athens with Rev. Vince Smith officiating.
Ms. Boyd passed away on August 18, 2018 in Athens, Texas.
Castione Pauline Keeling Boyd was born August 5, 1925 in Tucker, Texas the daughter of Henry Keeling and Mary Fickin Keeling and one of eight siblings. She was a long time member of the Wylie Baptist Church in Abilene, Texas and enjoyed spending time with all of her Church groups. She enjoyed playing marbles, watching the Texas Rangers baseball team and even played a little church softball in her younger days. Kit loved traveling, square dancing with her love James Boyd and was known as a great cook. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband James Curtis Boyd of 72 years; two sisters, Mildred Ives, Reba Kluth and two brothers, Belah Keeling Jr and William “Bud” Keeling.
Kit is survived by her children, Patsy and John Laub of Edmond, Oklahoma, Jimmie and Debby Boyd of Chandler; two sisters, Margie Ann Gilbreath and husband Wilbur of Tucker, Norma Dell Thornton of Tucker; one brother John Keeling of Flint; five grandchildren, Kimberly and Rev. Vince Smith, Greg Laub and Brenda Tracy, Jimmie Boyd Jr., Lisa Porter, Jamie Benavidez; nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held prior to the service on Wednesday at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home from 1-3 p.m.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
