Funeral Services for Billy Joe Robertson, 73, of Malakoff are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at First Baptist Malakoff with Bro. Derek Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Malakoff Cemetery.
Mr. Robertson passed away on June 20, 2014 in Tyler, Texas.
William Joe Robertson was born March 23, 1941 in Malakoff, Texas the son of James Calhoun Robertson and Jennie Adams Robertson. Billy Joe was a member of First Baptist Malakoff and a member of the Texas Cattle Ranchers Association. He married the love of his life Linda Jackson Robertson on October 6, 1961 and was a dedicated family man. He lived his life as a rancher, riding horses and herding cattle. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and spending as much time as he could watching his grandkids activities. Grand dad was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Jewell Thompson, Montie Davis, two brothers, Louie Robertson and James Robertson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Linda Robertson of Malakoff; daughter Shonda Lewis of Malakoff; son Keith Robertson and wife Margaret; four grandchildren, Kalli Nack and husband Keegan, Grant Lewis, Madison Lewis, Cheyenne Robertson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Owen Robertson, Hank Thompson, Billy K. Davis, Keith Colvin, Jeff Spivey, Phillip Surls and Tommy Barnett. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Malakoff High School Class of 1959.
A visitation will be held from 7-9:00 P.M. Monday, June 23, 2014 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Athens.
