Billy James Featherston passed away on April 21, 2018 in Chandler, Texas. He was born on November 6, 1932 to Thomas Allen Featherston and Alice Ira Green Featherston in Athens, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Frances Louise Featherston; his granddaughter, April Smith; his grandson, James Featherston; two great-grandchildren, Nathan Dwayne Taylor and Joshua Leigh Taylor.
Billy worked for Curtis Mathis/ Harvey Industries for many years. After retirement, he worked for Brownsboro ISD in the maintenance department. He enjoyed building things and working with wood. Billy also had a great love for horses, especially his horse, “Midnight”. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Brownsboro. He loved and adored his family and many friends. Billy will be greatly missed.
Survivors include, his sons, Billy Glen Featherston and wife Ruth Amy, Mark Dwayne Featherston and wife Vicki, Larry James Featherston and wife Shonda; his daughters, Diane Luna, Beth Graves and husband Keith; his grandchildren, Amy McDade, Angela Luna, Samantha Featherston, Jeremy Featherston, Tabitha Taylor and husband Tim, Bubba Featherston, April Featherston, Len Graves and wife Jennifer, Kayla Adkins and husband Aaron; 14 great-grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Autry’s Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Brownsboro. Burial to follow at Ash Cemetery. Arrangements by Autry’s Carroll-Lehr Funeral home of Athens.
