This year is the 125th anniversary of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. The Sarah Maples Chapter celebrated recently with a birthday cake furnished by the hostesses of the meeting. The NSDAR was founded by four women, Mary S. Lockwood, Ellen Walworth, Mary Deska and Eugenia Washington. More than 930,000 women have joined since the DAR was founded. They became members to honor their heritage as well as make a difference in their communities across the country and the world. Daughters touch lives every day and make lasting impressions on their communities. Pictured are, from left, Priscilla Berry, Helen Preston, Clara Roundtree and Lana Napper. (Courtesy photo)
