The Sarah Maples Chapter of DAR is pleased to welcome new member Jan Pierce. Jan is a Christian educator, author and speaker. She resides on ancestral land in Wise County. She is widowed, has four adult children and grandmother of seven. A fifth generation Texan. Jan has lived all Texas, graduated from Texas Tech, and is certified in history from Sam Houston State University. She has taught in public, private, and home school settings and each summer as “Mama Fishy” swim teacher. She founded the Texas Christian Writers in 2000 and when not at home writing, she hits the trail speaking, teaching, and researching about what else? Texas history.
