On Friday, Aug. 7, at approximately 2 p.m., Deputy Ray Yockey was patrolling the eastern part of Henderson County near Lake Palestine. Yockey observed a white Ford truck driven on FM 315 by Amanda Lane. Knowing that Lane did not have a valid driver’s license, Yockey initiated a traffic stop. Lane was transported to the Henderson County Jail and charged with driving while license invalid w/previous convictions – a class B misdemeanor and possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 < 1 gram – a state jail felony. Lane posted $6,000 in total bonds and was released.

At approximately 11:39 p.m., that evening, Deputy Brian Huckabee conducted a traffic stop in the city limits of Murchison. A search of the vehicle yielded quantity of suspected methamphetamine. The driver, Leslie Frentress, was placed under arrest and booked into the Henderson County Jail on the third degree felony charge of possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 > 1 gram < 4 grams.
