Masonic Youth Rainbow Girls install new officers

The Gun Barrel City Masonic Youth Rainbow Girls installed new officers on January 13. Emily Currey was installed as Worthy Advisor, and the theme for her term is “She Believed She Could, So She Did.” Her motto is “Imagine with all your mind, believe with all your heart, achieve with all your might;” colors are silver, gold, and blue; flower, the Plumeria; mascot, the Vixen (female fox); and her scripture is “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”–Jeremiah 29:11. Samantha Ramos was installed in the office of Charity, Tara Trimmins to Hope, and Laura Walters to Faith. Kate Maxwell and Olivia Ocanas were appointed to the Bow Stations of Love (represented by the rainbow ray of red) and Religion (represented by the rainbow ray of orange) respectively. Mrs. Tonya Currey serves as Mother Advisor, and Mr. Dennis Currey will serve as Rainbow Dad. The girls received awards recognizing their service hours and memory work. Installing Officers were: Ms. Carrie Currey, Installing Officer; Mrs. Marsha Currey, Special Installing Marshal and Chaplain; Lauren Zelenske, Marshal; Mrs. Cheryl Nix, Recorder; and Mrs. Donna Dean, Musician. Following the Installation Ceremony, everyone retired to the Banquet Hall to enjoy sandwiches, chips, dips, fruit kabobs, lemonade, punch, and cake. After these festivities, the girls delivered personal hygiene items to the residents at Forever Family in Kemp.

The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls is a service-oriented, leadership organization for girls between the ages of 11 and 20. Rainbow Girls participate in a wide array of activities, including leadership training, service projects, competitions, and annual retreats. Their younger group, the Pledges, have activities for girls ages 7 to 10.
