Man arrested for Continuous Sexual Abuse of Young Children

On Feb. 22, Smith County Sheriff’s Office investigators referred a case to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Division for further investigation. The case documented statements of two victims who sustained years of  sexual abuse involving suspect Jonathan Dickens of Smith County. Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Jessica Halbert was able to locate Dickens on March 22.

Investigator Halbert presented an arrest warrant affidavit for Jonathan Ray Dickens to Judge Randy Daniel who determined probable cause was sufficient for the arrest warrant of Dickens.

Henderson County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested Dickens on two counts of Continuous Sexual Abuse of Young Child or Children and booked him in to the Henderson County Jail. Dickens is being detained on a total of $300,000 bonds. An offense of this nature is a felony of the first degree, punishable by imprisonment in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for life, or for any term of not more than 99 years or less than 25 years.
