Monday, June 15, Henderson County Narcotic Investigators Kay Langford and Jeromey Rose culminated an investigation of methamphetamine distribution in Malakoff by executing a search warrant on Richard Dean Swiney at his residence on West Main Street. The warrant was authorized by Justice of the Peace Pct. 1 Randy Daniel.
Sheriff Ray Nutt, Chief Deputy Botie Hillhouse, Captain Bryan Tower, Lieutenants Severn and Faught, Investigators Langford, Rose, Vallentine, Shelley, Gray, Powers and Deputies Prochobradsky, Loper and Beddingfield, all from the Sheriff’s Office, executed the search warrant.
Upon search of the residents, investigators recovered quantities of suspected methamphetamine and Zanax along with scales and paraphernalia consistent with distribution of narcotics. Investigators also found a loaded .380 pistol.
Dean Swiney is currently on parole and is also out on bond on another drug related charge from April 15, 2015. Swiney was arrested and charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group I greater than 4 grams, less than 200 grams and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. Swiney remains in custody with bonds set totaling $35,000.
If convicted on the new charges, Swiney could face 5 to 99 years in the Texas Department of Corrections and a fine of up to $10,000.
