Malakoff First Grader Wins Multiple Buckles

Malakoff first-grader Brant Cookston, 7, competed at the Lonestar High School Rodeo Finals last weekend. He won five buckles and his first All-Around Saddle. He also competed two weeks ago in Ranger, Texas for the Mini Bareback World Championship where he has qualified for the semi finals to be held in August at the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs, Co. Brant competes in multiple events: Calf Riding, Mini Broncs, Poles, Goat Tying, Roping, Straight Away Barrels, and Barrel Racing. (Courtesy Photo)
