The Trinity Valley Community College Workforce Education Division is offering two lunchtime, credit courses during the fall semester that will help small to large business productivity. For those who are relatively new to computer applications, the College is offering BCIS 1305, Business Computer Applications. This course introduces people to cloud based storage, computer terminology and applications such as document processing, spreadsheets, databases and presentation software (all part of the Microsoft Office suite). Classes will run 12:15-1:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays.
For those already familiar with basic computer operation who wish to concentrate on spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel), the College is offering ITSW 1304 Introduction to Spreadsheets. The course will cover the following topics: creating formulas, utilizing built-in functions, formatting reports, creating tables (including pivot tables), how to use spreadsheets as a database, and creating charts and graphs. Grading will be business related and project based, with no written tests. These classes will run 12:15-1:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.
These classes are for the full 16-week semester and meet two days per week. You can register for the class now through August 23. The first class day begins the week of August 28 and completes on the week of December 7.
Each course will be offered face-to-face at the college during lunchtime.
