Press release
This Saturday, June 8, the Cain Center and Guitars Etc are teaming up to bring June Jam, a great music and open mic event on the outdoor stage at the Cain Center. The jam and open mic will kick off at 6:30 p.m.featuring local performers and lots of lively entertainment. This is a completely free event and the community is welcome to come out with lawn chairs, blankets and picnic and enjoy a great evening of music.
All music genres are welcome. Bands are encouraged to attend the event to let others hear their music. Guitars Etc will be providing a full drum set, electric guitar amplifiers, bass amplifiers, and a full audio set up so that anyone who wants to participate will have an opportunity.
The open mic and jams hosted by Guitars Etc. offer an opportunity for local artists to gain exposure and try out new songs and traditional favorites. The jams have truly become a community of local musicians who enjoy seeing each other at every event. Bands have used the jam to launch their first performance and many bands have formed because of these events.
“We are so glad when we see music magic happen on stage with great artists who have never met and we love seeing when bands form out of the jams and open mics we host,” said owner of Guitars Etc., Will Burgin.
Attendees and audience members can expect to hear a wide variety of musical genres including traditional classic rock, bluegrass, country, classic country, blues, and even metal.
The Cain Center is located at 915 S. Palestine in Athens. For more information or to sign up for the June Jam call 903-292-1733.
