On December 20 the Henderson County Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance made their year end visit to the Coffield Unit in Tennessee Colony, Texas.
During this Christmas season the Henderson County I. M. A. wanted to give empowerment and encouragement to the offenders.
Besides the ministers giving their spirit filled messages from the Lord, they provided cookies to the four thousand plus offenders.
Rev. Oscar Verdell, President of the organization said, “Although you are here and without your families, know that God loves you. You are a child of the Most High God and He will never leave you alone. No matter the situation, God is a good God and He will work out any problems that you have. All you need to do is just trust Him.”
“As we celebrate this joyous Christmas season, you must never feel that you have lost your praise. You must praise God at all times and in all situations. You must praise Him when you feel like it and when you don’t. If you feel like there is not way out, praise God and He will give you the way when you least aspect it,” said Eldress Mary Henderson.
The Christmas service ending with Evangelist Alma Berry and Bishop Annell Haney singing their favorite songs to lift up the name of Jesus.
The Henderson County I. M. A. would like to give a special thanks to the following businesses and persons who help provide all of the cookies: Collins Street Bakery–Corsicana, The Cookie Company–Tyler, Dr. John Sawtelle, Rev. R. C. Emanuel, Rev. Bill Burton, Subway–Malakoff, Brookshire’s-Malakoff & Athens, McAlisters Deli–Athens, Wal-Mart–Athens, Gun Barrel, & Tyler, and many other businesses.
