The Henderson County Performing Arts Center, in conjunction with King Sand & Gravel, announces the tender, romantic comedy, “The Last Romance” written by Joe DiPietro.
A crush can make anyone feel young again — even a widower named Ralph. On an ordinary day in a routine life, Ralph decides to take a different path on his daily walk — one that leads him to an unexpected second chance at love. Relying on a renewed boyish charm, Ralph attempts to woo the elegant, but distant, Carol. Defying Carol’s reticence — and his lonely sister’s jealousy — Ralph embarks on the trip of a lifetime, and regains a happiness that seemed all but lost. The Last Romance is about the transformative power of love at any age.
The cast consists of veteran HCPAC actors with the role of Ralph played by George Guillot,Sr., Carol is played by Bernie Crudden. Rose is played by Mary McCreary, the young opera singer is played by Beau Humble and the role of Peaches is played by newcomer Yoda. The show is directed by Dennis Gilmore.
The show runs June 6-8 and 13-15 at 7:30 p.m. with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, June 9.
