Dr. Glendon Forgey’s run as president of Trinity Valley Community College is over.
The college issued a press release Wednesday saying that Forgey tendered his resignation. The move brings to a close recent conflict between the president and the college board that led to Forgey’s suspension last month.
According to the TVCC press release, “The Board has accepted Dr. Forgey’s resignation and agrees with his view that it is in the best interests of the students and employees of TVCC for new leadership to be put in place as soon as practical, given his immediate desire to pursue other opportunities. Against the backdrop of the ongoing and heightened success of TVCC throughout his many years of steadfast leadership, the Board thanks Dr. Forgey for his devoted service and wishes him well.”
Wednesday’s press release did not mention how the board will go about selecting a new president. Dr. Jerry King was named temporary president on Monday, May 2.
