It’s party time in Athens.
The annual Athens Chamber of Commerce Gala will be held Friday, Jan. 19, at the Athens Country Club. The cocktail hour will begin at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. and the live auction at 8:30 p.m. The theme for this year is “Run for the Roses,” from the Kentucky Derby.
This year, there will also be live music with Willie Hadnot Jr.
The big moment of the night will be the announcement of the Citizen of the Year, but awards will also be handed out to the Large and Small Businesses of the Year, Community Connection of the Year and Ambassador of the Year.
Chamber President Marisa Gunstanson said the chamber is looking forward to a big year.
“What we want to do is find new ways to partner with all the people in the community, all the different organizations, and give back to them,” she said. “We love the direction everything is going in the city. Everybody is starting to work together, everybody is starting to communicate together. We want to be a part of that, it is exciting.”
Don’t wait to reserve your spot for the Galal because space is limited.
Tickets are $65 or you can reserve at table at the following levels:
- Premium – $500
