GBC Police Department press release
The Gun Barrel City Police Department is seeking information on the whereabouts of a person named Donald Ray Coleman, a 54-year-old white male. Coleman is approximately 5’10”, 185 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.
On Sunday Jan. 17, at approximately 3 a.m., Gun Barrel City Police Officer Gabriel Shue was dispatched to an address located on Bay Court, GBC in regards to a person outside the residence stating that he was going to shoot someone and that gunshots were heard.
When Shue arrived, he located a 50-year-old white female at the residence. Shue observed that the female had been assaulted with apparent facial injuries. Officer Shue called an ambulance and the victim was transported to the East Texas Medical Center ER in Gun Barrel City.
During the interview, the victim stated that a domestic argument was started because she had been out that night with a friend. During the argument, Coleman assaulted the victim with his hands, then bound her hands together and threatened to kill her. After a brief time, the female was able to get her hands free at which time Coleman fired multiple rounds into the master bedroom floor.
The victim stated that Coleman drug her to the garage and made the statement he was going to the friend’s house and that he was going to kill both of them. Coleman drug the victim outside where he struck her in the face with the pistol. At this time, the female was screaming that he, Coleman was going to kill her. The victim was able to break free and flee from Coleman. This is when a neighbor heard the screams and opened the door to investigate. The victim was able to escape and eventually gain entrance into the caller’s home for assistance. Coleman then left the area. He was last seen driving a White 2010 Toyota Tundra pickup bearing Texas license plate number AR91085, with a heavy duty, black, ranch hand style, brush guard bumper. Coleman is believed to be armed with a Taurus 9mm handgun.
Gun Barrel City Police Sergeant Jeff Norris who is assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division was called. When he arrived, a crime scene investigation was conducted. Norris was able to collect several items of physical evidence while at the scene. Investigator Monte Mansfield, Patrol Sergeant Kenneth Evans, and Patrol Officers Ken Bee, Kevin Lewis and Justin Keahey assisted in the investigation.
Anyone who has knowledge of where Coleman may be is requested to contact the Gun Barrel City Police Department at 903-887-7151. Coleman may have ties to the Dallas and Houston area. The Gun Barrel City Police Department has issued two felony warrants for Coleman’s arrest.
