The Gun Barrel City Masonic Youth Rainbow Girls inducted one new member into their Pledge group on Saturday, January 6–Crissy Ray. Parents and grandparents were in attendance at the induction ceremony. Crissy’s older sister Samantha Ramos is a Grand Representative to Colorado/Kansas in the Texas Grand Assembly of Rainbow Girls and helped to induct her.
After the Induction Ceremony, Pledges were installed into their new offices: Heavenlee Weldon as Pledge Sister; Caylee Weldon as Associate Pledge Sister; Mason Phillips as Sister of Happiness; Siddalee Ocanas as Sister of Kindness; and Crissy Ray as Sister of Confidence. Mrs. Tonya Currey was installed as Pledge Mother. Installing Officers were Gun Barrel City #369 Rainbow Girls: Samantha Ramos, Installing Pledge Sister; Emily Currey, Installing Marshal; Laura Walters, Installing Chaplain; Tara Trimmins, Installing Secretary; and Mrs. Donna Dean, Installing Musician.
After the Pledge ceremonies, a delicious lunch of taco soup, tortilla chips, tea, lemonade, and cookies was enjoyed by all guests.
The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls is a service-oriented, leadership organization for girls between the ages of 11 and 20. Rainbow Girls participate in a wide array of activities, including leadership training, service projects, competitions, and annual retreats. Their younger group, the Pledges, have activities for girls ages 7 to 10.
