The Henderson County Black History Committee has scheduled two events to honor the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
The first is the annual Gospel Explosion scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at Johnson Chapel AME Church in Malakoff. The group is asking for choirs, soloists, praise teams, male choruses, etc. to come help celebrate the legacy of the Rev. The second is the annual Candlelight Vigil scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, at New Hope Corinth CME Church in Malakoff. The speaker for this event will be the Rev. Melvin Smith. Everyone is invited to come and receive a blessing.
