FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW TODAY
1. The Sand Flat Cemetery Association was honored today on the floor of the Texas House of Representatives to commemorate the placement of an Official Texas Historical Marker for Sand Flat Cemetery near Athens.
2. Athens Middle School will host a meet-and-greet from 5:15-6 p.m. for new principal, Winston McCowan.
3. Trinity Valley Community College basketball fever continues to grow. The Lady Cardinals dominated Tyler in yesterday’s game, 87-47. Today, the men will take on No. 1 seed Kilgore at 1 p.m. I’ll be posting updates on our Facebook page.
4. Malakoff Middle School is competing in the “Texas Public Schools Rock!” student video contest sponsored by the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) and needs your help. All they need is for you to watch a short, cute video.
