The Cross Roads High School marching band is headed to the Alamo Bowl where band members were be part of a huge mass band halftime show along with marching bands from across the country.
CRHS Band Director Lindsay Pfaff said she believed the trip is an opportunity of a lifetime for her students, and she should know. She performed twice at the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tenn. as a high school student and took students from her former band in Oklahoma to the same game.
“I would say that going to the Alamo Bowl will be a memory my students will forever cherish,” she said. “There is no other feeling in the world like performing for thousands of people. It’s a rush like none other. The band program has never taken a trip like this or received this kind of recognition before. It’s a new experience and an opportunity to show the East Texas community what great things are happening at Cross Roads ISD.”
The trip will last from Dec. 30 through Jan. 2.
The band is accepting donations to help defray the cost of the trip. Please send check payable to the Cross Roads Band to 14434 FM 59, Malakoff TX 75148 c/o Lindsay Pfaff.
The band will also be conducting fundraising events between now and the trip, so please keep on the lookout for those.
