From the “Are You Kidding Me Department”:
At the Henderson County Commissioners’ Court meeting Tuesday morning, Commissioners Scotty Thomas and Ronnie Lawrence both reported having street barricades moved and thrown in ditches during this past weekend’s storms.
According to both men, the barricades were placed to block off roads that were dangerously flooded or damaged by the rain, which reached 20 inches in some areas.
Thomas said he called the Sheriff’s Office out to help and Chief Deputy Botie Hillhouse said deputies put up crime scene tape, but that was ripped down as well. Eventually, a deputy had to be posted to keep people safe.
I am flabbergasted that I have to post this, but … please do not move official barricades that are in the roads. They are put there for safety reasons. When you move them, someone else could get hurt.
