The Commercial Heifer Project entries were judged last week at the Henderson County Livestock Show. The project begins in October and concludes at the Show. It requires each contestant to complete a record book, take a test, go through an interview and choose two of the three heifers they raise to compete. The heifers were then sold at the sale barn in Athens on Friday. The 2016 Grand Champion Sr Division winner was Hannah Massey with LaPoynor FFA; 2016 Grand Champion Jr Division winner was Madison Gurley with LaPoynor FFA; 2016 Reserve Grand Champion Sr Division winner was Will Reynolds also with LaPoynor FFA;2016 Reserve Grand Champion Jr Division winner was Ryan Davis with Mabank FFA
