The City of Athens is inviting its development community over for a chat. On Oct. 18, the City will host a Development Roundtable from 3-5 p.m. at The Texan to discuss development issues and receive feedback from the building and development community on how the City can better serve them and the community.
“This roundtable is chiefly an opportunity for the City to listen,” said Managing Director of Public Services Ryan Adams. “We have a few updates to give, but we really want to know what our builders, tradespeople, and developers feel the City is doing well, how we can improve our development processes, and where we should set our sights in the years to come in order to help the City grow and redevelop.”
Some of the discussion topics posted for the meeting are the new permit fee structure, the adoption of new building codes, how the city’s communication and processes can be improved, and what can be done to create a development-friendly atmosphere in Athens. Developers, tradespeople, real estate agents, and contractors are all invited to attend.
