The Cedar Creek Lake Area Chamber of Commerce’s new event, the Cedar Creek Lake Fall Business Expo, held last Saturday at Mabank Pavilion, featured approximately 40 vendors, ranging from small businesses to non-profits. Even with a light turnout from the public, the vendors were able to conduct excellent business to business networking and by all accounts, the inaugural event was a success. According to CCLACC President, Jo Ann Hanstrom, plans are already under way for the 2014 Business Expo. Asked about future plans for the event, Hanstrom said, “With the first Expo behind us, the committee will be able to do a thorough assessment of the event, make adjustments and/or improvements where necessary. I’m excited that we’ll be bringing the Second Annual Cedar Creek Lake Fall Business Expo to the community next October.”
She went on to say that even though the chamber had sponsored such an event some years ago, this is a whole new venue and format, so it was like starting over and will need to rebuild. Having a new venue has greatly benefitted the attending businesses, giving them more room for their displays, trade show banner materials, and other booth marketing entities. Hanstrom said, “I’m pleased that the chamber of commerce was able to reformat our fall fund-raising event and bring a totally business-related venue back to the community.”
