First day of football contact

Friday was the first day that players could put on the pads and hit each other, according to UIL rules.

I had the chance to stop by practice at both Athens and Malakoff to see a little real high school football being played in Henderson County first the first time in the 2016 season.

East Cedar Creek Fresh Water Supply District is accepting sealed bids on a 2007 Ford Ranger, 2009 Ford Ranger, 16’ bumper pull trailer, and a 20’ Gooseneck trailer. Sealed bids will be received at ECCFWSD in person at 115 Hammer Rd, Gun Barrel City, TX 75156, or mailed to ECCFWSD, P.O. Box 309, Mabank, TX 75147. Sealed bids must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. on July 29, 2016. Items can be seen during normal business hours M-F 8am-4pm. For additional information call (903) 887-7103.
