— The Cardinals are 3-0 in SWJCFC. Blinn, Navarro and Tyler are all 1-1. Kilgore is 0-0, NEO 0-1 and Cisco 0-2.

— Cardinal football is averaging 67.3 points and 695.7 yards per game in wins against Tyler, Navarro and Cisco.

— Luis Lopez is the Cardinals’ top rusher with 307 yards and 4 TDs. Kyle Postma has 143 yards and 3 TDs and Jeff Harris 129 yards and 3 TDs.

— Jarvis Baxter is the Cardinals’ top receiver with 307 yards and 4 TDs on 11 catches. Alex Pina-Rhoden has 9 catches for 105 yards.

— Kyle Postma has completed 48 of 81 passes for 899 yards and 11 touchdowns. He has not been intercepted.

— Leo Peralta is 2 of 3 on FGs and 28 of 28 on extra points. Kyle Purselley is averaging 39.2 yards on 13 punts.

— Davonte McMillian is the top tackler for the Cardinals with 31 (14 solo, 17 asst). Cortney Finney has 26 and Jomal Wiltz 25.

— Jomal Wiltz is the solo tackler leader with 17.

Full Slate of Events Set For TVCC’s Family Day

TVCC LogoYou’d be hard pressed to find a more fun – or free – event than what Trinity Valley Community College has planned for Saturday, Sept. 20.

That’s the day the college will celebrate its annual Family Day with a host of events culminating in that evening’s football game between the nationally-ranked Cardinals and Kilgore College. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. TVCC will distribute complimentary general admission tickets to the game at a carnival that will be held on the practice field just south of Bruce Field beginning at 4 p.m.

The free carnival will include bounce houses, face painting and a family photo booth (check out http://www.atlphotoboothrentals.com/ for details). Additionally, the TVCC Bookstore will have Cardinal apparel for sale that fans can purchase and proudly wear at the football game (apparel must be purchased with cash or checks, no credit cards). TVCC Basketball Season Tickets On Sale

Season tickets for the 2014-15 basketball season at Trinity Valley Community College are currently on sale.

Basketball season ticket holders of last season are requested to contact Lucy Strom, at 903-675-6359, to receive their reserved seat numbers. Tickets will be held at the gate or may be picked up at Cardinal Gym.

Season reserved tickets will sell for $40.00 each. These reserved tickets will include all home games.

When purchased for individual games, general admission tickets will be $3 each and are available only at the gate.

Cardettes’ Collegiate Dance Workshop set for Sept. 20

9-11-14 Cardette Dance WorksopThe Trinity Valley Community College Cardettes have an exciting month planned, beginning with a Collegiate Dance Workshop scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 20.

The workshop, which coincides with Family Day at the college, will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Student Union Building Ballroom. The workshop – which offers instruction and hands-on training from some of the finest and most experienced dancers and performers in the area – is for dancers age 16 and over.
