Athens Kiwanis Team Wins TVCC Tournament

The Trinity Valley Community College Foundation Golf Tournament was held Monday, June 29 at Pinnacle Golf & Boat Club on Cedar Creek Lake in Mabank. Twenty-nine area teams competed to raise money for scholarships for future TVCC students. Trophies were awarded to the top three teams and gift cards to the winners of longest drive and closest to the pin contests.

The Athens Kiwanis Club team of Walter Wilmeth, Philip Gore, Mike Reece and John Passmore won first place; the Prosperity Bank of Athens team of Eddie Lick, Pat Fuller, Matt Anding and Neal Velvin won second place; and third place winners were Tommy Raymond, Sam Grimes, Glenn Walker and Ricky Walker. Mike Reece won the men’s closest to the pin contest, and Brad Rogers won the longest drive. TVCC President’s and Dean’s lists

Trinity Valley Community College has released the President’s List and Dean’s List for the 2015 spring semester.

Full-time students (at least 12 semester hours), who make no failing grades and secure an average of at least 4.0 grade points per semester hour are listed on the President’s Honor Roll.

Trinity Valley PTK Volunteers in Van

Phi Theta Kappa students Niyaz Murtazin, William Cody, Deborah Cody, Kim Boswell, Nazik Orazgeldiyeva along with PTK Advisor Nancy Long traveled to Van to help with clean up. TVCC Volleyball Camp Fun

These are the 7th-9th graders from Athens ISD at the TVCC Lady Cardinals volleyball camp. Such a great camp with lots of learning going on and a big thanks to Coach Spain and the TVCC volleyball players for hosting a volleyball camp for our community. (Via Fonda Morton Splawn)

TVCC Basketball Camp Set For June 22-25

The annual Trinity Valley Basketball Camp is scheduled June 22-25 at Cardinal Gym.

– The camp is open for boys and girls in grades K-12.
– The camp for boys and girls in grades K-4 is set for 9 a.m.-noon.
– The camp for boys and girls in grades 5-12 is set for 1-4 p.m.

The cost of the camp is $75 for each participant or $65 for each participant with if two or more family members attend. Each camper will receive a camp T-shirt.

Emphasis of the camp will be on individual player offensive development and include competitions, contests and leagues.
