Dr. Jerry King honored by PTK

Trinity Valley Community College President Dr. Jerry King will receive the prestigious Shirley B. Gordon Award from Phi Theta Kappa at the organization’s Centennial Celebration, to be held April 19-21 in Kansas City, MO.

The Gordon Award is named in honor of PTK’s longest serving Board Chair and a founder and long-time President of Highline Community College in Washington. College presidents and campus chief executive officers, nominated by their Phi Theta Kappa chapter, are selected for this award in recognition for their outstanding support of PTK.

“I am very honored to be selected for Phi Theta Kappa’s Shirley B. Gordon Award of Distinction,” said King. “I look forward to attending the Centennial Celebration in Kansas City, MO and receiving the award.”

TVCC joins Neptune GameTime family

Trinity Valley Community College announced today it is joining the fast-growing Neptune GameTime family.

Neptune GameTime, based in Tyler, brings home sporting events to life with 100 percent family-friendly pregame/in-game music and messaging. It will create the college’s very own “radio station” and enable the college to enhance the gameday experience for fans.

SBDC Stakeholders Breakfast scheduled for Tuesday

The Trinity Valley Community College Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will host a Stakeholders Appreciation Breakfast Tuesday, January 16 at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center. The invitation-only event will feature a panel discussion on economic development issues hosted by TVCC President Dr. Jerry King, Tyler Economic Development Director Tom Mullins and North Texas SBDC Network Executive Director Mark Langford.

Cardinal cheerleaders to take part in partner stunt competition

Florida has been very good to the Cardinal cheer program through the years. Several members of the spring semester squad hope the trend continues over the upcoming days.

Three duos off the squad are scheduled to compete Friday in the Partner Stunt competition at the 2018 College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship in Orlando, Fla., at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Three members will also be trying out to make the Team USA roster.
