TVCC Moves Up To No. 3
By Michael V. Hannigan
After two straight wins over conference rivals Tyler and Navarro, Trinity Valley Community College is moving up in the rankings while its neighbors are dropping.
The Cardinals moved up to No. 3 in the nation this week after beating Navarro 66-30 Saturday night in Corsicana.
The Navarro Bulldogs entered the game against TVCC ranked No. 6, but fell to No. 12 with the release of Monday’s rankings. Tyler is No. 13.
While the fans and the media get excited over the rankings, TVCC Coach Brad Smiley is keeping things in perspective.
“Its obviously nice to be recognized, but it is only one spot and its only September,” he said. “Rankings in December are the key.”
The Cardinals will be at home this Saturday against Cisco College. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Bruce Field.

EDIT: Change name from Cisco Junior College to Cisco College.
