TVCC Rodeo Set For This Weekend

Trinity Valley Community College welcomes you to the seventh-annual National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association Rodeo! The rodeo will be held Friday and Saturday at the Henderson County Fairpark Complex.

Each NIRA member college has its own club composed of student members and sponsored by a faculty advisor who supervises the club’s activities. Gun Barrel City Park Adult Softball League

Registration for our spring league has begun and the last day for registering is March 6.

  • Monday night: Women’s league
  • Tuesday night: Coed league
  • Thursday night: Men’s league

Fees for all leagues are $285 and $30 sanction fee with an 8 game schedule. All leagues are GSA/ASA sanctioned. For more information contact David at 903-519-9135 or go to

TVCC’s Smiley Named National JUCO Coach of the Year

Rawlings Football has named Brad Smiley of Trinity Valley Community College as Junior College Coach of the Year for 2014.

In addition, the annual awards include college coaches of the year for the FBS, FCS, Division II, Division III and NAIA. High school winners include a national Coach of the Year along with five regional coaches of the year – East, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest, and West. The awards were given in association with American Football Monthly, the leading resource for coaches everywhere.

TVCC averaged 58.5 points per game this past season under Smiley, finishing with an undefeated – 12-0 – season. In the C.H.A.M.P.S Heart of Texas Bowl, Trinity Valley defeated Coffeyville Community College, 27-24. Continue reading “TVCC’s Smiley Named National JUCO Coach of the Year”

Baseball/Softball signups

ATHENS: ATBA Baseball Signups start February 7 9 am – 12 pm and will be every Saturday in February for more info you can call David Cornelius at 903-603-3545 or you can go to Athensbaseball.com.

ATHENS: HCGSA Softball signups will be every Saturday at the Cain Park in Athens from 10-12. The last day to sign up will be February 28. Cost is $75 for first child and $65 for each additional child. If you have any questions, please contact Dustin Cook at 903-681-3626.

EUSTACE: Eustace Baseball Softball Association Sign-ups begin Saturday, January 31 and will be every Saturday through February 28. Sign ups will be from 9 am to 12 pm at the Eustace Middle School Gym each Saturday except for Saturday, February 28, and sign ups will be at the Eustace High School Baseball fields until the tournament ends that day. Registration Fee is $75 and is payable in full at the time of signing up. There will be NO sign-ups past February 28.

MABANK: Mabank Baseball softball Association last day for sign ups is Saturday 31st. Mabank Jr. high 9 am – 3 pm. More info here http://www.leaguelineup.com/welcome.asp?url=mbsa.

MALAKOFF: Baseball and softball signups are Jan 31st and Feb 7th at Malakoff McDonald’s 11 am – 2 pm, Feb 14th, Feb 21st, and 28th at Malakoff middle school gym 11am-2pm, and March 7th at pavilion at Kilman field 11 am – 2 pm. Please share so everyone has a chance to sign up.
