Woman arrested for illegal dumping in Brownsboro

On July 10, Fire Marshal Shane Renberg responded to an illegal dump of trash on CR 3418 in Brownsboro. After an investigation, it was determined the person responsible for dumping the trash was Renee McLaughlin. McLaughlin was arrested at the scene and transported to Henderson County Jail and booked in for Illegal Dumping > 5lbs a class B misdemeanor. McLaughlin was also cited for Driving while license suspended and failure to maintain financial responsibility.

Man charged with murder in hit-and-run

Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse said a man from the Eustace area was charged with murder Wednesday after he intentionally hit another man with his truck.

Robert Clayton Bradley, 28, was traveling with a female passenger on FM 2709 toward Athens early yesterday morning when he saw the victim on foot.

Hillhouse said an investigation indicates Bradley passed Rodney Abbott, 30, also from the Eustace area, stopped his truck and made a U-turn. He then drove the vehicle into Abbott at a high rate of speed, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Man arrested on weapon, drug charges

Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse Tuesday said a man was arrested on West Main Street in Gun Barrel City Monday afternoon with suspected methamphetamine and a loaded handgun.

Jesse Mack Bennett, Jr., 19, of Seven Points was initially stopped for a traffic violation by Captain Damon Boswell and Investigator Meagan Hogan.

Methamphetamines were found concealed in his wallet.

Game room raid leads to seven arrests

Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse and his Deputies last night raided a game room, charged four people with engaging in organized crime, arrested three others, and, in a new twist, discovered evidence of a recently-active methamphetamine lab.
