Two women – one charged with dealing methamphetamines – were arrested by Sheriff Botie Hillhouse’s Narcotics Investigators during a New Year’s Day raid at a Payne Springs residence.
Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse is investigating the death of a 17-year-old girl and the shooting of her father as a homicide after they were found Monday with gunshot wounds to the head.

Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse is investigating the death of a 17-year-old girl and the shooting of her father as a homicide after they were found Monday with gunshot wounds to the head, several experts are joining the investigation, including a few Forensic Psychiatrists.
“At this stage, conclusions cannot be definitively drawn,” Hillhouse said. “We are treating this as a homicide.”
Beverly McBride, 17, was found on a couch inside a residence in the 20000 block of Woodridge West. She was shot in the head and died at the scene.
Her father, Gabriel McBride, 46, was on the living room floor of the mobile home. Also shot in the head, he was in and out of consciousness and airlifted to UT Tyler hospital where he is in critical condition. Hillhouse said he would provide updates as the investigation moves forward.
Justice of the Peace Milton Adams conducted the inquest of the female victim.
Hillhouse said his Office is being assisted by the Henderson County District Attorney’s Office and the Texas Rangers.
One of Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse’s Deputies stopped a driver in the wee hours of the morning Thursday and arrested the Mabank man for possession of methamphetamines and driving without a license.
Thomas Paul Harrington, 35, was driving in the Cherokee Shores Subdivision just after 2 a.m. when he committed a traffic violation.

Sheriff Botie Hillhouse’s Tactical Team hit a North Athens home at 4 a.m. Monday and arrested an armed drug dealer with methamphetamines and material commonly used to distribute the illegal drug.
Robert Martinez Maldonado, 30, of Athens, was the sole occupant when the search warrant was executed by the specialized Tactical Team and Officers from the Athens Police Department.
“We have had our eyes on this residence, suspecting it was a center for drug manufacturing and delivery,” Sheriff Hillhouse said. “Now it is shut down and out of business.”

Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse said one of his deputies arrested a wanted man Wednesday.
Austin Magee, 20, was arrested in the Cherokee Shores subdivision of Payne Springs just after lunch by Deputy Matt Jistel and was charged with possession of methamphetamines, evading arrest and tampering with evidence.
