Deborah passed away on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015 in Tyler.

Deborah Suzanne Felker Smith was born May 27, 1953 in Roswell, New Mexico the daughter of George Felker and Patricia Long. She was an avid reader and enjoyed baking and crafting. She accepted Jesus as her Savior at the age of 21. She loved her church family and her Sunday school class. Deborah was a loving wife, mother, and Nana who will be missed by all she knew and loved.

Obituary: Michael Tibbit

Mr. Tibbit passed away on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015 in Tyler, Texas.

Michael Andrew Tibbit was born Aug. 15, 1960 in Detroit, Michigan the son of Louis Tibbit and Helen Marie Knoff Tibbit. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Brownsboro and a Lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge in Texarkana, Arkansas. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, and fishing. Michael was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend who will be greatly missed by all those he knew.

Obituary: John Franklin Spencer

JohnThe world lost a great man today. A man who was greatly respected, admired by all and loved by his friends and family.

John Franklin Spencer was born on July 11, 1935 in Kaufman, Texas, to Joseph and Sarah Spencer. He was the youngest of four children in a family that included brother Fred and sisters Alice and Ruby. He was named for then Vice President John Garner and President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

During his early years John grew up with a love of music. He took his inspiration from Sunday church hymns, as well as Big Band, Dixieland and Jazz. This prevailing interest would be a common thread for the remainder of his life, starting with his college education.

Obituary: Larry McDaniel

mcdaniel, larry PhotoGraveside services and interment for Larry McDaniel, 73, of Athens are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015 at Macedonia Cemetery in Angelina County with Stewart Lowe officiating. A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church.

Mr. McDaniel passed away Oct. 18, 2015 in Tyler.

He was born Jan. 21, 1942 in San Augustine to Lawrence Daniel and Margaret Dorothy Smith McDaniel. Larry had been a resident of Athens for the past 35 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He had been an automobile salesman for several local dealerships for 15 years. He then became a local contractor 15 years. His ministry was the driving force in his life. He loved reading and studying history. He loved and cherished time with his family.
