Obituary: Larry Allen McCue

Larry Allen McCue went to be with our Lord on Saturday, October 27, 2018. He was born to Maurice and Blanche (Gaskill) McCue on December 10, 1936. He grew up in Moscow, Ks, helping in the family grocery store and with the summer harvests. High school meant dating, basketball, track and school plays in addition to his studies. He was proud to have received an appointment to West Point Military Academy and spent a year in prep school in Washington D.C. prior to West Point. He attended there one semester and graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in accounting in 1959.

Obituary: Karen Grace Adams

Karen Grace Adams, age 15, joined her Savior in Heaven, October 21, 2018, in Dallas, TX.

Karen Grace was born on May 28, 2003, in Athens, TX, to her mother Elisabeth Jarvis and father Michael Jarvis. Carrying a smile as bright as the sun, Karen was known for her courage, strength and unwavering faith. She attended Malakoff Middle School, where she excelled in athletics and drama, as well as received academic honors. Karen’s love for her friends, music and the Lord gave her the most joy.

She is survived by her mother, Elisabeth Jarvis, father, Michael Jarvis, grandparents, Karen Adams Wilson and husband Bobby, Mable and Melvin Walker, brothers Caleb Aaron Adams, Trevor Wayne Jarvis, Andrew Ian Adams, sister Hannah Leanne Jarvis, brother Michael Rage Jarvis uncle Justin and wife Candace Jarvis, uncle William Jarvis, aunt Kandi Adams and uncle Jacob Adams. She is also loved by many great aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather Timmy Adams, great-grandmother, Bessie Bernice Adams, great-grandfather, John Adams, great-grandmother, Bobbie Calhoun, great grandfather Sonny Calhoun.

Friends and family will be received Wednesday, October 24, 2018, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Huckabee-Tomlinson Funeral Home, Malakoff, TX.

Services will be held at First Baptist Church, Malakoff, TX October 25, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Darren Miller and David Adams officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Obituary: Robert W. Strain

Robert W. Strain passed away on October 18, 2018 in Athens, Texas. He was born November 15, 1924 in Dallas, Texas. He was reared in Athens, Texas, graduating from high school there in 1942 with honors (but just barely). Before and after World War II, he pursued jobs through eleven years of college as a dormitory waiter, term paper typist, clerk in the dean’s office, grader of business law exams, film projectionist, newspaper deliverer, teacher, and entrepreneur (co-owner of photography business for sororities and fraternities, and publisher of PH.D. economic theory notes). He received three degrees (BBA, MBA, DBA) from as many universities, two luckily with honors (Texas Tech Univ., Louisiana State Univ., Indiana Univ.). His doctoral dissertation was entitled, Life with The Lincoln (1905-1955), a History of the Lincoln National Life Insurance Company, which the company commissioned for its golden anniversary. He holds both professional insurance designations: CLU and CPCU.
