Obituary: Pauline M. Moiseve

4011368Memorial Mass for Pauline M. Moiseve, age 85 will be held Friday, Feb. 12, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Athens, Texas, with Father Nolan T. Lowry and Dr. Kyle Henderson officiating.

Pauline Marie Langlais was born Nov. 27, 1930 in Charny Canada. Pauline is the daughter of Willie & Bernadette Langlais, the last child in a family of eight children. She immigrated to the United States in 1954, following her calling of being a Registered Nurse.

She married Walter J. Moiseve, son of Russian immigrants, in Santa Ana California in 1956. They originally lived in Fullerton California then moved to Yorba Linda California, where they raised their two children Mathew and Monette. Later Walter and Pauline moved to San Clemente, building their dream home, where they enjoyed their retirement years. Eventually Walter and Pauline moved to Tyler, Texas to be closer to their daughter and live at The Hamptons Retirement Community. She spent her final months at the home of her loving daughter under the care of Hospice of East Texas and her devoted caregivers, Julie, Penny, and Shelley.

Obituary: Joan Adams

Adams, JoanGraveside services for Joan Adams, 77, of Mabank are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016 at Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery in Ft. Worth, Texas under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.

Ms. Adams passed away on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016 in Athens, Texas.

Joan Yvonne Cooper Adams was born Aug. 7, 1938 in Ft. Worth, Texas the daughter of Richard Sterling Cooper Jr. and Atha Mozelle Hudson Cooper. She was a Baptist and a member of the Seven Points VFW Lodge. They moved to the lake after retirement and thoroughly loved everything about living on the water. She loved her family and was a great mother, sister and grandmother. Joan will be missed by all she knew and loved.

Obituary: Jenny Ward

3987471Funeral services for Jenny Ward, 80, of Athens have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Crossroads with Rev. Frank Upchurch officiating.

Burial will follow in Becks Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Ward passed away Saturday in Farmersville.

Jenny was born March 6, 1935 in Corsicana to the late David Noah and Virginia Schomerus Whitaker. She was a resident of Garland for many years and had a 30 plus year career at Texas Instruments. Upon retiring she moved to Athens where she had lived for the past 13 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Crossroads and loved to go fishing and hunting. She also loved to crochet which she enjoyed very much. She always was tending and taking care of her family and will be missed by all.

Obituary: Dr. Daniel E. Scott

ScottA Celebration of the Life of Dr. Daniel E. Scott, 84, of Murchison, is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Murchison with Rev. Brooks Taylor, Rev. Leonard Jackson and Rev. Lee Francois officiating. Services are under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.

Dr. Scott was reunited with his loving wife on her birthday, Jan. 21, 2016.

Born on Jan. 28, 1931 and raised on his family’s farm in Murchison, Texas the son of descendants of Scottish immigrants, Seth Grant Scott and Winifred Echols Scott. Dr. Daniel Scott graduated from Texas A&M University with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1954. Upon graduation, Dr. Scott was commissioned as a first lieutenant in the US Air Force. He served in its Veterinary Corps for two years and was promoted to captain.
