Graveside Services for Dewey Dyer, 101, of Murchison are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Liberty Cemetery in Martin’s Mill with Bro. Scott Gizzle officiating.

Dewey Dyer passed away on November 15, 2018 in Murchison, Texas.

Dewey Truett Dyer was born July 13, 1917 in Van Zandt County, Texas the son of Jesse Dyer and Trudy Edwards Dyer. He attended Life Bridge Church in Tyler. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved gardening, farming and hunting. He also enjoyed raising hunting dogs.

Stephan (Steve) Carl Hanson beloved husband, father, grandfather and son returned home to his Heavenly Father on November 8, 2018 in Iowa City, Iowa. He was born January 3, 1955 in Reno, Nevada, and formerly resided in Athens, Texas for the past 18 years. Visitation for family and friends will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 17, 2018 with services to follow at 11:00 A.M. at Autry’s Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel.

Obituary: Sammie Brasher

Sammie Brasher, 87 Athens passed away peacefully Tuesday November 6, 2018 at her home in Athens. Sammie was born February 10, 1931 in Aspermont, Texas to the late George Samuel and Amelia Alene Sandlin Hester. She was a resident in Athens since 1965 and was a member of West Athens Baptist Church. She was a seamstress for many years at Vassarette here in Athens. She was a 1992 graduate of Henderson County Junior College where she earned her Associate of Art degree. She spent 20 years with Athens Independent School District as a substitute teacher which she truly loved.
