Ms. Baker went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 11, 2016.

Jo Ann Baker, 60, was born on March 4, 1956 in Woodward, OK daughter of Harvey Martin Curry and Dora Belle Tedford Curry. She was a very hard worker and a great cook. Jo Ann, also known as Granny Jo, loved reading, listening to music, and watching movies about criminal law. Jo Ann was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Obituary: William Barker Davis, Jr.

Davis, WilliamFuneral services for William Baker Davis, Jr. will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 4 p.m. at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home with Pastor Spencer officiating. Services are under the direction of the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Family of Athens.

Mr. Davis went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 28, 2016.

William Baker Davis, Jr., 94 of Athens was born on April 10, 1922 in Gandy, Louisiana, son of William Baker Davis, SR. and Mary Emma Lee. He married Wilmoth Emma Bogan on November 30, 1946 and served in the United States Army. He enjoyed yard work, blowing leaves, and was a talented carpenter. William was passionate about serving his country in World War II, telling stories of his service, and being a part of the 222nd Searchlight Brigade stationed in New Guinea. He worked in the CCC after High School until he was drafted. He was a wonderful husband, father, and son who will be missed by all he knew and loved.

Kenneth Allen Holcomb, JR., 63, of Athens, was born on August 7, 1953 in Dallas, TX son of Kenneth Allen Holcomb, SR. and Eunice Kathleen Costlow Holcomb. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. Allen, also known as PawPaw, loved his kids and spending time with his family whenever he could. He was a great family man who will be missed by all who knew him.

Obituary: Charles ‘Chuck’ Thomas Gullick

Mr. Gullick passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2016.

Charles Thomas Gullick, 91, of Athens, was born on July 27, 1925 in Tremont, Mississippi, son of Benjamin Gullick and Belle Williams Gullick. Charles was married to his beloved wife, Billie Ruth Knott Gullick for nearly 47 years and proudly served in the United States Navy. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, waterskiing, and vegetable gardening. He enjoyed playing dominoes, taking pictures, traveling and he loved to listen to Gospel music. Charles, also known as “Papa Chuck” was a wonderful family man and loved spending time with his family. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Obituary: Leona Ann Ledbetter

Leona Ledbetter, 72, of Canton, was born on September 12, 1943 in Croswell, Michigan, daughter of William Westley and Elma Phillips Westley. She was an avid reader, was a good cook, and enjoyed her animals and the farm life. Leona loved to go have lunch with her friends as often as she could. She loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart. Leona was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
