Obituary: James Laroy McTaggart

James Laroy McTaggart, born August 5, 1926, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and passed from this earthly home on November 15, 2017, at the Frank Tejeda Nursing Home in Floresville, Texas.

James was preceded in death by his father Pearl Exter McTaggart, mother Dorothy Elizabeth Touchtone McTaggart, sister D`Alice McTaggart Cahill, brothers Lester Exter McTaggart, Willie J. (Bill) McTaggart and Wesley Gene (Bobby) McTaggart. Also, preceding James in death was a wife Patricia June Christy McTaggart, a daughter Judith (Judy) McTaggart Rogers and a son James Laroy (Jim) McTaggart. James leaves his wife of 17 years, Martha C. Moore Callaway McTaggart, son Leslie Taylor McTaggart, daughters-in-law Denise McTaggart and Karen McTaggart, son-in-law Doyle Rogers, step-children Mike and Jean Callaway, Lloyd and Marsha Hoelting.

Obituary: Keller Don Thormahlen

Keller Don Thormahlen passed away on November 13, 2017 in Tyler, Texas. He was born on October 13, 1935 at home in rural Van Zandt County to Keller H. Thormahlen and Lois Marie Palmer Thormahlen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Keller Andrew Thormahlen.

Don was a graduate of Elgin High School and Hardin-Simmons University where he developed lifelong friendships. While in university at Abilene he met his bride Patricia and started their first home. A loving husband and father, Don was influential in many lives. Mr. Thormahlen was a Mortgage Banker for many years. His service in the Army National Guard was a reflection of his patriotism and love for country.

Obituary: Nancy Pearl Morgan

Nancy Pearl Morgan, age 66, passed away on November 11, 2017, in Athens. She was born on January 14, 1951, to Millard Benton and Lena Pearl Davis in Henderson County.

She was preceded in death by her father, Millard Davis and her mother Lena Pearl; father and mother-in-law Ernest and Mary Ida Morgan.

Nancy was working for the Andrews Center in Athens, where she was admired and loved by her co-workers. She was a family strong lady, she adored her kids and grandkids with all she had. She was a very dedicated friend, wife, mother and grandmother and sister. Nancy will be greatly missed by all of those who knew her and loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Jesse Lynn Morgan; her 3 daughters, Emily Blake and husband Branson, Rachel Wilson and husband Russell, and Holly Celeste Morgan; grandchildren, Lance McLeod and wife Ashley, Cadye Childress, Morgan Wilson, Mary-Celeste Daphne Pearl Childress, Aubrey Blake, Andrew Wilson, Hudson Blake, and Jackson Blake; great-grandchildren, Kynlee and Conner McLeod; her sisters, Connie Lovelady, Mary Cleckly, Frances Cain and husband Bill; her brother, Jon Davis; sister-in-law, Cathy Morgan; brother-in-law, John Morgan and wife Missy; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Bethel Christian Church of Athens, on Thursday, November 16, 2017, at 1 p.m. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. at the church. Burial to follow at Meredith Campground. Autrys Carroll-Lehr is in charge of arrangements.

Obituary: Rusty Speake

Funeral Services for Rusty Speake, 63, of Malakoff are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens with Bro. Tommy Hayes officiating. Interment will follow at Malakoff Cemetery.

Rusty passed away on November 11, 2017, in Tyler.

Clayton Russell “Rusty” Speake was born August 30, 1954, in Athens, Texas the son of Maurice Hardiman “Sonny” Speake and Caroline Bates Speake. He was a self-employed A/C owner-operator at Speake Air Conditioning serving Henderson County and the surrounding areas for over 40 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. His other hobbies included music, playing the guitar, billiards, but more than all he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather and brother who will be greatly missed by all he knew.

Obituary: Carolyn Lindsey

Carolyn Lindsey, age 84, of Brownsboro, passed away on November 10, 2017, in Tyler. She was born on July 24, 1933, to Victor Carlton Cook and Loreda Mae Camp Cook in Frankston, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jake Junior Lindsey; her brother, Charles Cook and sister, Mary Cook; her son-in-law, Gary Guffey; and one great-grandchild, Xavier Miller.
