Graveside services for Michael Pearce, 68, of Athens are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, December 7, 2017, at County Line Cemetery in Anderson County with Mack Peacock officiating. Services are under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.

Obituary: Peggy Donosky Dwelle

Peggy Donosky Dwelle was born Nancy Eudora Belew in Fort Worth to Jeffee and Homer Belew August 17, 1922. She died December 2, 2017 in Dallas.

At age six, her mother, after a divorce from Peggy’s father, married Myer Max Donosky of Dallas who adopted her and her sister, Jane. Her name was changed to Peggy
Donosky.

She lived for a short time in Dallas, followed by four years in Summit, NJ. While there, her parents adopted an infant brother, David. The family returned to Dallas when she was in the fifth grade. After completing the seventh grade at Armstrong Elementary School she entered Highland Park High School and graduated in 1939. That summer she worked at the Dallas Morning News and saved enough money to buy a Ford Model A
roadster.

Obituary: Lucille ‘LuLu’ Hazell

December 3, 2017 Lucille “LuLu” Hazell our precious wife, mother, Nannie, and friend went home to be with her Lord and Savior. Lulu age 84 is a longtime resident of Malakoff, Texas.

Lulu was born May 8, 1933 in Houston, Texas to Charles Vincent Skero and Sally Rose Sedito Skero.

She met the love of her life and soulmate Clayton Eugene “Buddy” Hazell in Houston. After three dates Buddy proposed to “The Love Of My Life” and Lulu accepted. They were married at All Saints Church, Houston on November 16, 1952. Momma Lulu is her name to many.

Obituary: Alice Irene Cook

Alice Irene Cook age 87, of Athens, passed away on December 3, 2017. She was born on January 15, 1930 to George Washington Aydelott and Ola Brazoria Morehead Aydelott in Waxahachie, Texas.

No services will be conducted; however, Ms. Cook will be buried in the DFW National Cemetery next to her husband Robert A. Cook. Autrey’s Carroll-Lehr is in charge of arrangements.

Obituary: Patsy Ruth Thornsberry

Patsy Ruth Thornsberry of Athens was born on Dec. 18, 1939, in Chatfield, TX, to Jessie Chester Griffith and Ethel Aline Farmer. She passed away on Nov. 29, 2017. Patsy was an auxiliary” Pink Lady” for many years, where she was very dedicated. She obtained many honors and pins of recognition for the hours worked as a “Pink Lady.” She loved going to McDonald’s and Whataburger daily and made many friends there. Patsy was dedicated to her church, Wesley United Methodist Church of Athens and had a servant’s heart. Her hobby was baking and took treats to friends and family whenever she could.
