Obituary: Paul Louis Harrup, Jr.

harrupPaul Louis Harrup, Jr. passed away Jan. 21, 2013 in Tyler.

He was born Sept. 16, 1932 in Oklahoma City, Okla. , second to the youngest of six children of Lucille and Paul Harrup, Sr. He graduated from Waco High School and earned a degree in Business and Finance from Baylor University. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. As a resident of Athens, he established Harrup and Company Insurance and Real Estate Business. Paul served on many civic committees and was an active member in the Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs. He was a Master Mason, thirty-second degree Scottish Rite and Shriner of the Tyler Court Royal Order of Jesters of the Sharon Temple Shrine. He was a member of the Salesmanship Club of Tyler and First Baptist Church of Mabank. Paul will be remembered for his terrific sense of humor and the ability to tell a joke. His office kept an open door for friends or anyone else who would engage in a hearty political discussion.

Paul is susrvived by his wife, Jean; sons Paul Harrup III, McKinney, Angus Harrup and wife Tinika, Highland Village; daughter Mary Kay Webb and husband Gary, Charleston, S. C.; two step-children, Lisa Perkins and husband Joe, Layne Atherton and wife Gina, Mabank; grandchildren Ian and Ava Harrup, Emily Perkins, Bo and Caleb Atherton; sisters Louise McCall, Phoenix, AZ., Katherine Sutton and husband Lee, Shreveport, LA., Eleanor Teel, Tulsa, OKla.; brother Steve Harrup and wife Peggy, Waco; numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Courtney Arford, Greg Arford, Andrew Teel, Monty Harrup, David Teel, Paul Teel, and Robert Sutton.

Honorary pallbearers include Kerry Harris, Kelly Harris, Caleb Atherton, Mark Campbell, Joe Dan Perkins, and Bo Atherton.

Visitation will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25 2013 at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at First Baptist Church, Athens with Rev. Brent Tucker officiating.

Interment will follow in Athens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida 33607.

Obituary: Alice ‘Bobbie’ Berry Rodeghier

Alice “Bobbie” Berry Rodeghier was born in Dallas on Nov, 16, 1935. She died surrounded by her family in McKinney, Texas on Jan. 16, 2013.

Bobbie was retired as a bookkeeper for C&S Hardware.

Bobbie married her first love, James Berry, at 15 years old. The two remained together until James’ death in 2002. Their 52 years of marriage produced three daughters, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and countless silly stories, happy memories, and practical jokes.

Bobbie remarried in 2003 to David Rodeghier, who remained her loving companion for the rest of her life.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel Ruth Wilkerson and Robert Marshall Martin; and her husband, James Berry.

She is survived by her husband, David Rodeghier; her brothers, Robert Marshall Martin Jr. and Jerry Wayne Martin; her daughters, Lynn Freeze and husband Richard, Patricia Petersen, and Diana Herriott and husband David; her grandchildren, Christy, Kelly, Rachael, James, and Andrea; and great-grandchildren, Mason, Dylan, Drew, and Paige.

Bobbie was best known for her ability to give and receive love and will be dearly missed.

Obituary: Tonja Rae Rogers

Tonja Rae Rogers, 40, of Malakoff passed away on Jan. 17, 2013 in Tyler.

Tonja was born on Dec. 12, 1973 in Malakoff.

She is survived by her children, Carley Rae Julian, Cortney Gayle Julian; parents David Roberts and Gayle Rogers; father of both girls, Carl Eugene Julian; brother Johnny Hawk Roberts; and uncles, Aubrey Lynn Rogers and Tommy Melton Rogers.

Tonja is preceded in death by her grandmother, Aubrey L. Rogers; grandfather Andrew L. Rogers; and uncle David Rogers.

A memorial service is set for Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at 10 a.m. at New Hope Ministries located at the Red Barn in Log Cabin City with the Rev. Johnny Morgan officiating.

Our smiling blue-eyed angel went to be with her Lord and Savior in heaven on Jan. 16, 2013.

Charlene Douglas Mullins was born on Aug. 13, 1931 and having been a longtime resident of Malakoff, she graduated a year early with honors. She was a cheerleader for Malakoff High School for many years and also for Henderson County Junior College.

Charlene became Mrs. Claudie Mullins on May 18, 1949 and she and Claudie had five children. Charlene and Claudie had been married 54 years at the time of his passing Jan. 18, 2004. She was a seamstress most of her life and ran the Holiday Cleaners in Malakoff for 20 years.

After taking her last breath on earth and her first breath in heaven, Charlene rejoiced as she reunited with her parents Albert and Jessie Mae Douglas; husband Claudie Mullins; daughter Becky Ray; sisters Billie Ruth Andrews and Jimmie Merle Wallace; brother Clayburn Douglas; mother-in-law Iva Jane Mullins; granddaughter Kaylee Diane Mullins; and great-grandson Joseph Shay Monroe.

She is survived by her children, Sandy Shirey of Malakoff, son Bill Mullins and wife Tammy Mullins of Malakoff, son Charles Mullins of Malakoff, daughter Jay Jay Lee and husband Kelly Lee of Katy, Texas; son-in-law O.B. Ray of Malakoff; sister-in-law Ruby Douglas. Her legacy continues with 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and three more great-grandchildren on the way.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Rufus McGuffey, Robert McGuffey, Ryan McGuffey, Adam Ray, Matt Ray, Bart Ray, Tyler Mullins, Lance Mullins, Austin Monroe, and Colton Monroe. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters Lindsey Brignac, Heather McKinley, Amber Feagins, Laci Mullins, Kayla Mullins, Jennifer Lee, and Amanda Lee.

Visitation for Ms. Mullins is Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at the Malakoff First Baptist Church. Service will be Saturday, Jan. 19 at 10 a.m. with Bro. Robert Webb officiating. Interment will follow in the Malakoff Cemetery.

Alahna Nicole Williams passed away on Jan. 13, 2013 in Crandall, Texas.

Alahna was born on Oct. 2, 2012 in Athens to Delvin Jones and Jamiya Antranise Williams.

She is survived by her father, Delvin Jones; grandparents Terence Jones, Roshunda Burkins, Antrail Williams, Cheryl LaTonya Givens; great-grandparents Linda Harrell, LaNell Williams; great-great-grandparents Charlene Shelby, Clarice Daville; aunts Taylor Jones, Taylin Connley; uncles Corian Connley, Jabari Givens.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harley Harrell, Leslie Givens; great-grandparent Jessie Mae Williams.

A candlelight service will be held 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan, 20, 2013 the Malakoff High School football stadium for Alahna and her mother, Jamiya Williams.

Service for both Alahna and Jamiya will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2013 at First Baptist Church on Mitcham Street in Malakoff and are under the direction on Huckabee/Tomlinson Funeral Home, Malakoff.
