Thursday, Wednesday, July 30, was a very busy day for the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office.

Two Arrested on Various Charges

On Wednesday, July 30, Henderson County Sheriff‘s Office Captain Bryan Tower received a call about two subjects in a white Crown Victoria who had entered a house off of FM 2494 near Athens without the consent of the owner. The two were surprised by contractors present in the residence. Several members of the Sheriff‘s Office attempted to locate the suspect vehicle and subjects. At approximately 2:10pm, HCSO Chief Deputy Dan Parker located a vehicle matching the description at a residence off SH 19 north of Athens.  Continue reading “Busy Day for HCSO”

Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Bust

On Monday, July 28, at approximately 10 p.m., HCSO Deputy Brad Beddingfield observed a disturbance occurring near the Catfish Corner restaurant in Seven Points. Beddingfield initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle that fled the scene and made contact with the driver, Terri Jean Franklin.

A search of the vehicle yielded a small quantity of suspected methamphetamine. Franklin was taken in custody and transported to the Henderson County Jail where she was booked in for Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 1 g.

If convicted of the State Jail Felony charge Terri could face up to 2 years in a State Jail Facility and up to a $10,000 fine. HCSO Sgt. Jistel and Deputy Nutt spoke with an additional subject that was involved in the original disturbance.

Bond has yet to be set on Franklin who remains in custody.

Crimestoppers Reward for Boat Theft

Boat 1Sometime between May 22 and May 30, 2014 a 2000 model 30` Cobalt 292 Saltwater boat was stolen from the Diamond Oaks addition in Payne Springs. The yacht is white in color with illuminated yacht letters, blue stripes and was powered by twin Volvo Penta engines. The sign was made for Custom Yacht Signs services. The value of the boat is approximately $40,000.

On July 4, 2014 the hull of the boat was located in a field near Midlothian,Texas. The interior had been removed along with the engines.

Drug Investigation Nets 2.5 Kilos of Meth

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday a drug investigation that netted 2.5 kilos of methamphetamine across two counties.

According to the press release, on May 13, 2014, a combined task force of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies executed three federal search warrants and arrested two individuals, Uleyses Roberts, 45, and Diijon Howard, 25, in Henderson County. This operation was conducted pursuant to the federal indictment of Roberts and Howard for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine in the Eastern District of Texas.
