Sunday, June 14, about 12:45 p.m., Gun Barrel City Police Chief Damon Boswell was called to a disturbance at 2500 East Main Street. There he found a 43-year-old man acting erratically, identified as Lewis Knox Naquin of Kemp.

A search by Chief Boswell revealed a glass pipe and quantity of methamphetamine on Naquin’s person. Naquin was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and transported to Gun Barrel City Jail.

The new unit will be located at 198 Municipal Drive and will provide residents with a safe and environmentally responsible way to dispose of unwanted, unused or expired medication, including controlled substances.
