Malakoff teacher, coach resigns after allegations of improper communication
A Malakoff Middle School teacher and coach has resigned following allegations he had “improper communications” with a female high school student.
Paul Cook, who taught 6th grade world history, resigned Monday afternoon, according to Malakoff ISD Superintendent Randy Perry.
Perry said he began investigating the allegations of improper communication — which included text messages — Monday morning.
Perry said there is no evidence at this time that there was a physical relationship between Cook and the student.
The legal investigation into the incident continues, Perry said.
